About The Jerusalem Development Authority
The Jerusalem Development Authority (JDA) was established in 1988 by a special law.
The JDA is a statutory authority defined as a joint government/municipal corporation. It is under the authority of the Minister of Finance, the Minister for Jerusalem Affairs and the Mayor.
The JDA has a council made up of 37 members, most of whom are representatives of the government (public sector employees), the municipality (elected officials and employees) and the public. The JDA has many varied functions: to initiate activities and prepare plans for the economic development ofJerusalem.

Within the framework of JDA's activities, major urban complexes and model residential neighborhoods have been built in Jerusalem. The city's appearance has been improved, modern industrial and hi-tech areas have been developed, and an infrastructure and road system has been set up that has changed patterns of life in the city.
