As part of the initiatives to develop quarter parks in Jerusalem, the JDA, together with the Jerusalem Municipality and in cooperation with the Ministry for Jerusalem and Heritage, is promoting the development of Sacker Park as the central urban park in the city.
As part of the initiatives to develop quarter parks in Jerusalem, the JDA, together with the Jerusalem Municipality and in cooperation with the Ministry for Jerusalem and Heritage, is promoting the development of Sacker Park as the central urban park in the city.
Sacker Park is situated between the neighborhoods of the Nachlaot and Rehavia, the government compound, the Knesset, and the Supreme Court, and is the largest developed green space in Jerusalem. The park includes various facilities, such as basketball and tennis courts, a bike path, a skate park, and a children’s playground. The park was inaugurated in the 1960s and the current plan aims to upgrade the leisure experience in the area.
The renewal of the park includes:

Expanding and updating the playground area and providing shade

Building new sports fields

Preparing infrastructures for mass events
Establishing a picnic area

Providing additional public bathrooms

Enhancing the western entrances to the park, improving access,
and strengthening the connection to the Rose Park -
Adapting the main paths in the park for use by bikes and for sports activities

Establishing a new dog park

Installing modern street furniture and park lighting

Installing in-ground garbage containers
