Work to establish the Train Track Park began in 2009. The park has a linear form and has a length of approx. 7 km. The park was established along the route of the old Turkish railroad line that ceased to operate in the 1990s. The route extends from Nahal Refaim, close to Bible Hill, to the east through to Jerusalem Park (Emek Refaim) to the west.

The Train Track Park forms part of the fabric of open urban spaces and provides a connection between the metropolitan Jerusalem Park and Jerusalem’s Cultural Mile – the area around the Cinematheque, the Khan Theater, and the Sultan’s Pool.

The park serves as a green boulevard for urban leisure and entertainment activities, combining urban nature with a bike path and footpath, pergolas, and sitting corners.
