The park has an area of around 5,00 dunams, extending from the area by Malha Rail Station along Nahal Refaim, through the neighborhoods of Malha, Givat Masua, Ir Ganim, Kiryat Menachem, the moshavim of Ora and Aminadav, and on to the slopes below Gilo to the south. The area of the park includes various springs, such as Ein Lavan, the Walaja and Ein al-Khaniya springs, as well as the Biblical Zoo, the Jerusalem Aquarium, and Ein Yael Active Museum.

The unique landscape of the park includes agricultural terraces, orchards, and spring sites, epitomizing the agricultural and settlement heritage of the Land of Israel.

The park includes various features of interest: The streambed of Nahal Refaim, one of the tributaries of Nahal Sorek, which has been rehabilitated and a promenade constructed along its length. Bike paths and footpaths have also been added, as well as playgrounds and adventure sports equipment, lawns, picnic areas, and a car park. The springs of Ein Lavan and Ein al-Khaniya have been renovated and made accessible, including the development of local vegetation and planting of trees characteristic of the Jerusalem Hills.

Features still in the planning stage include the connection of the park to the Gilo neighborhood by means of an accessible footpath; renovation of the streambed of Nahal Refaim (stage two); planning for the Walaja springs; a plan to pave a footpath connecting Ein Lavan and Ein Khaniya, and so forth.
