Procedure for assisting academic study programs for overseas students
at budgeted institutions of higher education in Jerusalem
The JDA is interested in increasing the number of overseas students studying in Jerusalem. At present, around 2,000 overseas students study in Jerusalem each year, in programs ranging from one month to one year – mainly at the School for Overseas Students of the Hebrew University.
The objective is to reach a level of 5,000 students in Jerusalem within a number of years.
This requires the expansion of the availability of academic programs suitable for overseas students. It is also important to expand the range of institutions offering such programs.
To this end, the JDA is interested in encouraging institutions of higher education in Jerusalem who are willing and able to absorb overseas students to work to establish new programs for these students.
The JDA will provide financial and professional assistance in this field for the planning and initial operational phases.
